m._woniak_kr.jpgMarek Woźniak, Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region, was elected a member and a Vice President in the Bureau of the Committee of the Regions during the 74 Plenary Session, yesterday, 10 April 2008. The nomination allows to combine two important functions in this expert and consultative institution of the EU. Last week, 4 April 2008,  the candidature of Mr.Woźniak for a head of the Polish delegation to the CoR was unanimously adopted in Gdańsk. The function was passed to Mr. Woźniak by Bruno Synak, President of the Regional Parliament of the Pomorskie Voivodship. From now on, Mr. Woźniak will be responsible for managing and coordination of works of the Polish delegation to the CoR. As his most important task Mr. Woźniak perceives strenghtenting the voice of the Polish representation in the CoR and highlighting the interests of self-government on the European forum.

Marek Woźniak, Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region, has been a Member of the Committee of the Regions since February 2006. He has been participating in works of two commissions: EDUC (Commission for Culture, Education and Rresearch ) and RELEX (Commission for External Relations and Decentralised Cooperation). Since October 2007 he has been also appointed a function of Vice President of the CoR and head of the Polish delegation ad personam.
